- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups peeled and diced apples (preferably Granny Smith)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard loaf pan and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Toss the diced apples with lemon juice, then fold them into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the bread is baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Once the bread is done, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Drizzle the glaze over the warm bread.
