Learn how to make delicious Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 8 slices of brioche bread
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional, but adds a lovely brightness)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • A pinch of salt
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing the filling. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest until smooth and creamy.
  2. Lay out the brioche slices and spread a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture on half of them. Top with sliced strawberries, pressing them gently into the cheese.
  3. Cover with the remaining slices of brioche to form sandwiches, pressing the edges together lightly to seal.
  4. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, flour, and a pinch of salt to create a smooth batter.
  5. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. The oil is ready when a drop of batter sizzles upon contact.
  6. Dip each sandwich into the batter, ensuring all sides are coated, then carefully place it into the hot oil.
  7. Fry each sandwich for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Nonna Rosa always said to watch for that perfect golden hue—it’s the sign of a job well done.
  8. Remove the sandwiches from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
