Learn how to make delicious pasta recipe orange. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 12 ounces of your favorite pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine work well)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Zest of 2 large oranges
  • Juice of 1 large orange
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the dried oregano and orange zest, allowing the flavors to meld for another minute.
  4. Add the freshly squeezed orange juice to the skillet, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet, gently mixing to coat the pasta with the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add the reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then stir in the chopped parsley for a burst of freshness.
  7. Serve immediately, topping with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
